Timm Wins Title at Idaho State Fall Invitational

Vanessa Timm won the orange flight singles title as the Boise State women's tennis team wrapped up a successful weekend of play in Pocatello.
POCATELLO, Idaho – Vanessa Timm will be returning to Boise as a champion after winning the Orange flight singles title at the Idaho State Fall Invitational this weekend in Pocatello, Idaho.
The Bronco women's tennis team wrapped up a successful weekend on Sunday and took home some great wins with them. Timm defeated Weber State's Yuuna Ukita 6-2, 6-7 (0-4), 10-5 in Saturday's semifinal match, then finished it off on Sunday by beating Lucy Octave of Utah State 2-6, 6-1, 10-8.
Freshman Joana Baptista had a solid weekend herself as she won the consolation championship on Sunday with an intense 6-7 (0-3), 6-3, 12-10 victory over Utah State's Hannah Jones.
Not many doubles matches were played the last two days for the Broncos, but Frankie Trella and Baptista put on a solid performance when they had the chance as they blanked a duo from Montana 6-0 in the consolation quarterfinal.
The Broncos now return home to Boise for an off week before travelling to Pullman, Wash., to compete in the Cougar Classic hosted by Washington State from Oct. 4-6.
