BOISE, Idaho - Boise State will begin a two-game homestand this Saturday as it hosts San Diego State at 2 p.m. at ExtraMile Arena.

LAST TIME OUT
Boise State dropped its second Mountain West contest Wednesday at UNLV, falling 66-65 to the Lady Rebels on a layup with 6.1 seconds remaining.

The Broncos entered the final quarter with a 57-50 lead, but made just three field goals in the frame, and scored only three points over the game's final 8:33.

Riley Lupfer and Rachel Bowers shared the team lead with 14 points apiece, while Jade Loville added 12 points off the bench. Bowers also grabbed seven rebounds to supplement her performance.

WHO'S NEXT
San Diego State (8-9, 3-2 MW) makes the trip to Boise this weekend on a two-game winning streak, having posted wins over Utah State and Wyoming.

The Aztecs are led by the play of Taylor Kalmer (14.2 ppg) and Sophia Ramos (12.9 ppg, 3.53 apg).

SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series between Boise State and San Diego State is tied, 8-8, while the Broncos are on a four-game winning streak.

Last season in Boise, the Broncos put up 91 points on the Aztecs in a 91-67 win.

IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Boise State has found itself, as well as a handful of players, ranked fairly high in early national stat rankings through Jan. 5.

As a team, the Broncos rank seventh in assists (294). The Broncos' 44.9 field-goal percentage ranks 37th, and the team's 128 3-pointers are 21st in the country.

Individually, redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher leads the nation with 134 assists, and is second with 7.88 assists per game. Senior guard Riley Lupfer is fifth in the country with 53 3-pointers made, and 17th with 3.12 triples made per game.

PROTECT THE HOME COURT
Jan. 4's 54-40 win over Nevada marked Boise State's 16th-straight home victory over Mountain West competition.

The Broncos' last home conference loss was a 72-68 defeat to Nevada on Jan. 20, 2018.

BEATING THE CALIFORNIA TEAMS
Saturday's game against San Diego State is the first for the Broncos against one of the Mountain West's three California teams, a group against which Boise State has seen major success of late.

Since dropping an 84-77 decision at San Diego State on Jan. 7, 2017, the Broncos have reeled off 16-straight wins against the trio of the Aztecs (4-0 against SDSU  over this stretch), Fresno State (7-0), and San Jose State (5-0).

BOWERS COMES UP BIG
She's only played at UNLV's Cox Pavilion twice, but sophomore center Rachel Bowers must love the place because she dominates games there.

Wednesday, Bowers went 6-for-8 from the field and 2-for-2 from the line for 14 points, and grabbed seven rebounds despite the Bronco loss.

In two games in Cox Pavilion, Bowers is averaging 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds, while shooting an incredible 81.3 percent (13-for-16) from the field.

LOVILLE HEATING UP
Boise State's bench production continues to tick upwards thanks in part to the recent play of sophomore guard Jade Loville, who scored 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting with two assists Wednesday at UNLV.

After a cold spell in which she only scored four points over a four-game stretch (Dec. 4-15), Loville has gotten back to her scoring ways, averaging 8.2 points while shooting 52.8 percent (19-for-36) over the last five games.

RACKING UP ASSISTS
Jayde Christopher passed out 11 assists Wednesday at UNLV, posting her fifth performance of the season with double-digit helpers.

The 11 assists also boosted her already national-best assist total to 134, 19 ahead of second-place Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon.

CLIMBING UP THE CAREER LIST
Redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher has skyrocketed up the Boise State career assists list in her Bronco career, a feat made even more impressive by the fact that she's only played 50 games in the Blue and Orange.

Christopher, with 316 career assists at Boise State (2018-present), already ranks sixth all-time in program history, and is already just 74 away from the No. 3 spot held by Marta Hermida (390).

This season, Christopher's 134 assists are already the seventh-most in program single-season history, and, averaging 7.88 assists per game this year, the Federal Way, Wash., native is well within range of the single-season record of 192 set by Yaiza Rodriguez in 2016-17.
