ABOUT THE FALCONS: Air Force is 8-9, with a 2-3 record in Mountain West play. The Falcons are 5-3 at home this season, including a 79-60 win against defending conference champion Utah State (Jan. 7). Lavelle Scottie (14.8 points per game), Ryan Swan (14.3 ppg) and AJ Walker (12.1 ppg) lead the Air Force offense which ranks fourth nationally in three-point percentage (.405) and 24th in field goal percentage (.478).
SERIES HISTORY: Boise State leads the all-time series against Air Force 12-5. The Broncos have won five of the last six meetings and eight of the last 10. Since joining the Mountain West, Boise State is 4-4 in games played at the Air Force Academy.
MAGIC MARKS: Boise State's success in the win column this year can be correlated to a pair of basic metrics. The Broncos are 10-0 this season when holding opponents under 45 percent shooting from the field and 1-7 when allowing teams to shoot better than 45 percent. In all 11 of Boise State's wins, the Broncos have held opponents to fewer than 70 points in regulation. During Leon Rice's 10 seasons as head coach, Boise State has won 79 percent of its games in which it allowed fewer than 70 points (136-36).
TAKING CHARITY: Boise State ranks in the top 10 nationally in free throws made (306; sixth) and free throws attempted (414; ninth). Â Derrick Alston Jr. and RJ Williams have each been to the free throw line at least 100 times this season. Alston (110) and Williams (100) are the only pair of teammates in the country who have both attempted at least 100 free throws this season. Alston's 110 attempts rank 16th nationally, while his 91 made free throws rank eighth in the country.
