RENO, Nev. - Braydey Hodgins just refused to let Boise State's skid extend to three Saturday. The senior guard scored 15 of her 25 points in the first half to keep the struggling Broncos within range of Nevada at the break, then drew a key charge in the third quarter which ignited a 14-0 run from which the Broncos never looked back in an 83-72 win.

Fellow senior A'Shanti Coleman highlighted the Bronco revival in the second half, scoring 19 points on 9-for-9 shooting with nine rebounds over the final 20 minutes. Coleman posted her second double-double of the week, finishing with a career high-matching 22 points, and a career-best 12 rebounds.

The win kept the Broncos (15-8, 7-4 MW) from its first three-game conference losing streak in four years, and extended the winning streak over Nevada (10-12, 3-8 MW) to six.

"We had great poise and great energy. I thought Braydey and A'Shanti were just tremendous," said Boise State head coach Gordy Presnell. "I was just so excited that we won the game. We took care of the ball and made good decisions against their press. It was a great win for us, especially getting the piano off our backs. Hopefully we can take it into next week with two home games."

Trailing 36-33 at the break, Boise State opened the third quarter with an 18-4 run to take an 11-point lead at 51-40. Hodgins started the key stretch with a layup to bring the Broncos within one at 40-39, then drew a charge on Da'Ja Hamilton. That led to six-straight points from Coleman to put the Broncos up five, and the run stretched to 14-0 when McGwire's layup made it 51-40 with 4:26 left in the quarter.

Coleman ended the frame with a three-point play, capping a quarter in which she scored 11 points and went 5-for-5 from the field. The Broncos would outscore the Wolf Pack, 25-13, and hold Nevada to just 4-for-15 from the field in the pivotal frame.

"She came up with big, big rebounds all game, and Jayde got her some really good shots and finishes. I was really impressed with her tonight," Presnell said of Coleman's performance.

Hodgins, whose 25 points were a season high, continued her assault on the Nevada defense in the fourth. The Pasco, Wash., native put together a highlight reel of coast-to-coast layups, catching the Wolf Pack defense too slow in getting back and stretching the Bronco lead to 15 at 71-56 with another end-to-end run following a Nevada miss.

"She got a lot of confidence getting into the open floor. She has a great open-floor crossover, and can change gears. She changes gears while she's running and she can shoot off either foot, so she finishes around the basket," Presnell said. "[Nevada] pressed us, and we got her in the open floor and good things happened."

Hodgins' effort Saturday helped the Broncos weather an early drought in which Nevada closed the opening frame on a 15-4 run to take a 17-14 lead. Five minutes into the second, Nevada took its largest lead of the game at 27-18 following Marguerite Effa's three-point play, but Hodgins responded right away with a 3-pointer to cut it to six.

After Coleman's three-point play brought the Broncos within a pair at 31-29, Hodgins scored Boise State's final four points of the half to keep the Broncos within three at 36-33.
Imani Lacy led Nevada with a game-high 28 points Saturday while Essence Booker had 19.
