ABOUT THE AZTECS:Â San Diego State is the last remaining unbeaten team in the country at 25-0, including a 14-0 record in Mountain West play. The Aztecs clinched the MW regular-season title Tuesday, owning a five-game lead over a three-way tie for second, which includes Boise State. Malachi Flynn paces San Diego State with 16.4 points per game and more than five assists per contest. The Aztecs shoot 38.7 percent from three-point range as a team, and limit opponents to 27.9 percent beyond the arc. Both marks lead the Mountain West and rank in the top 15 nationally.
SERIES HISTORY:Â San Diego State leads the all-time series 13-7. The Broncos have won the last three meetings in Boise, and are 5-3 at home against the Aztecs since joining the Mountain West. San Diego State jumped out to an early lead in the first meeting between the teams this season, going on to win 83-65 in San Diego (Jan. 11).
11 IN A ROW:Â Boise State has won 11 consecutive home games and are 12-1 at ExtraMile Arena this season. The Broncos, 7-0 in home conference games, are one of three Mountain West teams still unbeaten at home in league play, joining San Diego State and Nevada. The last time Boise State finished a season without a home loss in conference play was 1997-98, also the last perfect home record in all games (13-0).
TOP-5 FOES: San Diego State will be the fourth top-five opponent to visit the Broncos in Boise State program history, and the highest-ranked team to visit Boise since No. 3 Cincinnati played the Broncos Dec. 30, 1999. The highest-ranked opponent the Broncos have defeated is No. 11 Creighton (Nov. 28, 2012).
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED: Sunday will mark Boise State's 32nd game against a top-25 opponent since Leon Rice took over as head coach. Prior to Rice's arrival, the Broncos played 30 ranked teams in the first 42 years of the program's history as a four-year institution.
400 CLUB, AGAIN: Derrick Alston, Jr. and Justinian Jessup have each eclipsed the 400-point plateau for the second consecutive season. Alston (478) and Jessup (407) are the fifth pair of teammates to both score at least 400 points in consecutive seasons in Boise State history. The last duo to do so was Anthony Drmic and Derrick Marks in 2012-13 and 2013-14.
