Broncos Roll Through Doubleheader

Boise State women's tennis was dominant in wins over Montana State and Linfield on Saturday in Boise.
BOISE, Idaho – It was a good day to be a part of Boise State women's tennis as the team took home two victories over Montana State and Linfield in a doubleheader Saturday at Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
The Broncos were able to get strong performances from their doubles teams right out of the gate. On court one Lilian Poling and Holly Stewart showed why they have been the team's No. 1 pair all season long by winning 6-3, while Vanessa Timm and Mae McCutcheon won an incredible final point to win their court-two contest 6-4, giving the Broncos the early 1-0 lead.
Poling was calm and collected in singles play as she put on another impressive performance as the Broncos' No. 1 singles player. The New Yorker defeated Montana State's Laura Mary 6-2, 6-3 to make the Bronco lead 2-0, and became the 22nd Bronco to win 60 matches in her career.
Joana Baptista showcased a lot of toughness in her court two win, battling to take down Linnea Fristam 6-3, 6-3 and putting the team within a win of clinching the match.
Camryn Moortgat was stellar in her court six performance, beating Evi Buijsen 7-5, 6-2 and securing the fifth victory of the season for her team. Holly Stewart added to the total with a gritty 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 win on court three and the Bronco lead quickly became 5-0.
The Broncos were then able to complete the sweep after Vanessa Timm and Ana Conde Vendrell each took home three-set victories on courts four and five respectively.
Stewart and Poling took care of business quickly in singles each taking home two-set wins at the No. 1 and 2 spots respectively to put the Broncos up 3-0 in the blink of an eye.
With her family in the stands, the Frenchwomen Conde Vendrell put on a dazzling performance at the No. 4 position, winning 6-2, 6-0 over Lexie Matsunaga to clinch the second win of the day for her team.
On court three, Timm was able to fend off a late second-set push from Linfield's Riley Clayeux to win 6-1, 6-4 and the Bronco lead extended to 5-0.
With the match already decided, Linfield was able to take a win on court five, but Jovana Kuljanin sent the Broncos home on a high note as she battled to win a 6-0, 7-6(6) match over Linfield's Haley Fujimori on court six.
Up next for Boise State is another doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 22 against College of Idaho and Lewis-Clark State.
