Another Doubleheader On Tap for Broncos

Boise State women's tennis will host its second-straight doubleheader this Saturday as it hosts College of Idaho and Linfield.

ANOTHER DOUBLEHEADER ON TAP FOR BRONCOS

  • Boise State women's tennis continues its home defense as it hosts another doubleheader this weekend this Saturday against College of Idaho at 1 p.m. and Lewis-Clark State at 5 p.m.
  • The Broncos are playing impressive tennis to begin the year, surging to a 6-2 record after winning four out of their last five matches.
  • Although Mountain West play has yet to begin, the Broncos' .750 win percentage trails only Wyoming in the conference standings entering this weekend.
  • Last season the Broncos swept both Lewis-Clark State (Jan. 26) and College of Idaho (March 8) in dual matches in Boise.

LAST TIME OUT

  • Last weekend the Broncos hosted a doubleheader with Montana State and Linfield.
  • Lilian Poling collected her 60th-career singles victory by defeating Montana State's Laura Mary 6-2, 6-3 in Boise State's 7-0 sweep of the Bobcats in the day's first match.
  • Boise State took home its second victory the day when it beat Linfield 6-1 behind freshman Holly Stewart's performance. The Kiwi earned her first-career No. 2 singles victory 6-1, 6-1 over the Wildcats' Tessa Kern.

WHO TO WATCH IN SINGLES

  • Three Broncos are on impressive winning streaks in singles. Poling, Stewart, and Vanessa Timm have each won their last-five singles competitions and have not lost matches since Feb. 1 against Colorado.
  • Lilian Poling has the chance to move into the program's Top 20 for singles victories in a career. She currently sits tied for 21st with 61 wins.

 WHO TO WATCH IN DOUBLES

  • After going 2-0 last weekend Poling and Stewart own a record of 6-1 on the season as the Broncos' No. 1 pairing.
  • Camryn Moortgat and Joana Baptista have anchored down doubles court three, as the duo are 5-1 on the year and are in the middle of a three-match winning streak.

HEAD COACH BECK ROGHAAR

  • Holds a career record of 112-94 and is only the second coach in program history to eclipse 100 career victories.
  • Entering his 10th season at the helm of the Broncos, Roghaar has led his teams to six winning seasons as the man in charge.
  • Was named the WAC Coach of the Year in 2011 and the Mountain West Women's Tennis Coach of the Year in 2018.
  • Was a three-time ITA Academic All-American as a student-athlete at Boise State where he went 52-35 overall between 2003-05.
