MW Media Announces All-Conference Awards

BOISE, Idaho - Justinian Jessup and Derrick Alston, Jr. were honored as All-Mountain West selections in a vote conducted by media members who cover the league. Jessup was named to the first team and Alston landed on the second team.

Jessup led the Broncos in scoring during conference play, averaging 17.8 points per game, and was the top three-point shooter in the league, making 63 triples at a 43.8-percent clip. He also led the way in steals and blocked shots, while finishing third on the team in rebounds and assists. Jessup was named to the media's All-MW Third Team last season.

Alston was second on the team in scoring (14.9 points per game) and rebounding (4.7 per game) during league play. His 53 assists in 18 conference games led the Broncos. Alston was an honorable mention selection in last year's media vote.

Alex Hobbs earned votes for the Sixth Man of the Year award, but finished behind Nevada's Nisre Zouzoua. Hobbs was the 2017-18 Mountain West Sixth Man of the Year in the coaches' vote.

The 2019-20 All-Mountain West honors as voted on by the league's coaches will be released Tuesday.

Boise State finished the regular season with a 19-11 record, including an 11-7 mark in Mountain West play. The Broncos earned the No. 5 seed in this week's Mountain West Championship and will open tournament play Thursday, at 2 p.m. PT/3 p.m. MT against UNLV in the quarterfinal round.
