2020 Student-Athlete Graduation Program
BOISE, Idaho – Commencement ceremonies across the world will look a little different this spring, but that will not stop Boise State Athletics from celebrating its 52 current and former student-athletes who are earning degrees this week. The graduating class achieved a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average over their academic careers. All 20 Bronco programs are represented among this semester's graduating class.
"I am so proud of our graduating student-athletes for accomplishing the ultimate goal," said Executive Director of Athletics Curt Apsey. "Because of their hard work and commitment, they are going to walk away from Boise State with a quality degree that will guide them in their next phase of life. I want to commend our staff for finding creative ways to celebrate all of our deserving graduates amid our current circumstances."
Boise State's student-athlete development staff worked to secure caps and gowns for every student-athlete and mailed the regalia to graduates around the globe, including the customary student-athlete stoles. The stoles are traditionally provided at the annual student-athlete graduation banquet, held the week of commencement. Printed programs typically made available at the banquet are in production and will be sent to each member of the graduating class.
This year's banquet cannot be held in person, but a condensed program will be aired using Facebook Live (Facebook.com/BoiseStateBroncos) at 11 a.m. MT on Friday, May 8, including the announcement of the annual graduation awards. All graduates and their friends and family are encouraged to tune in for remarks from coaches and staff, as well as the graduating student-athletes themselves. Members of the Boise State Athletic Department will be among the Facebook audience, interacting with and offering congratulations to the graduates and their guests.
The virtual banquet and award winners will be posted on the Boise State Athletics social media platforms Friday, for those who cannot view the live stream.
Boise State announced last month that it will hold a virtual commencement Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m. MT, in place of the traditional ceremony. Numerous Boise State colleges, clubs and campus organizations will host their own graduation celebrations in the coming days. All graduates who planned to walk in the spring commencement ceremony are invited to attend a special traditional commencement ceremony in December, as well.
Below is a list of all 52 Boise State student-athletes earning a degree this week. Follow the Broncos on social media this week for more on each of the graduates.
