COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State student-athletes combined for a department-record and conference-leading 123 Spring Academic All-Mountain West honors, the league announced Tuesday. The spring awards encompass all Mountain West-sponsored winter and spring sports.
The historic performance comes on the heels of a successful spring semester in the classroom for every Boise State Athletics program.
The Broncos led the conference in softball selections, with 15 student-athletes earning recognition. Boise State women's golf set a program record with seven Academic All-MW selections, while men's basketball (five) and men's tennis (six) each tied its program best.
To be eligible for academic all-conference honors, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
The Mountain West honored a conference-record 1,125 student-athletes.
