BOISE, Idaho - Boise State women's soccer head coach Jim Thomas continues to add to an already deep roster of transfers by inking Payton McBride, a defender from Utah. She becomes the seventh transfer and third from a power-five school this offseason to join the Broncos.
McBride, a defender appeared in 12 games for the Utes including four starts. She played a season-high 73 minutes against the Broncos in the match with Utah, logging her only shot of the season.Â
A local graduate of Borah high school, McBride played her club soccer for the Boise Thorns ECNL and coach Thomas. She was club teammates with current freshman Payton Baratcart and sophomore transfer Grace Pekovich.
McBride comes to Boise State with three years of eligibility remaining and is expected to be an integral part of a backline that tied for the fewest goals allowed in program history last season.Â
The Broncos prepare for the 2020 season and a chance to three-peat as Mountain West regular-season champions.
