Broncos Picked Second Overall

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference announced Wednesday the predicted order of finish as voted by the cross country coaches in the conference. Both Boise State squads received the second-place prediction ahead of the 2021 spring season.
The men received three first-place votes to tie Colorado State, however, the Rams edged the Broncos in total points, finishing with 43 to Boise State's 40. Air Force (38) and Utah State (35), each received one of the two remaining first-place votes. Rounding out the conference were Wyoming (28), New Mexico (20), Nevada (12) and Fresno State (8).

On the women's side, the Broncos secured the lone first-place vote not awarded to the defending MW champion New Mexico Lobos (81). Boise State received 70 points, finishing just ahead of Air Force (67), followed by Colorado State (56) and Utah State (48) rounding out the top five. The rest of the field includes Nevada (41), Wyoming (36), UNLV (21), Fresno State (18) and San Diego State (12).Â

Boise State is set to open the season in Las Vegas, Nev., at the UNLV Cross Country Invitational, Feb. 1.
Both Bronco squads are looking to improve on their finishes from last season after a third-place finish for the women and fourth place for the men.Â
The MW Championships are set for March 5, in Las Vegas, Nev.Â
