LEWISTON, Idaho – Boise State women's cross country earned a bronze-medal finish and the men took fifth at the Inland Empire Championships, Saturday.
The women were paced by junior Maxine Paholek and freshman Lauren Larson who finished 10th (18:02) and 11th (18:03), respectively.
Joining Paholek and Larson in the Broncos' scoring five were freshman Abby Kendrick (18th-place finish), senior Julia Pleskaczynska (19) and freshman Helena Kleronomos.
On the men's side, sophomore Ben Sherman led the Blue and Orange, crossing the finish line in eighth (24:47) and helping the men's squad to a fifth-place finish.
Sophomore Aidan Palmer (13), freshman Angus Fitzgerald (24) and sophomores Jadon Mansur (40) and Caleb Stamper (78) rounded out Boise State's scorers.
Next up for the Broncos is the Mountain West Championships, which is slated for Oct. 29 in Albuquerque, N.M. The men look to capture their first conference title since 2018, after finishing fourth in 2019 and third earlier this year, due to COVID-19 altering the 2020 season timeline. The women seek to break New Mexico's streak of 13-straight conference championships. The team was just two points shy of topping the Lobos in 2018.
