WHAT'S AT STAKE: The Broncos are looking to qualify for the first Mountain West Conference Championship tournament to be held since 2011. The tournament will feature the top-six teams from the regular season standings in a single-elimination format next week at Las Vegas (Nov. 14-16) in Cox Pavilion on the UNLV campus. Boise State is currently sitting in sixth-place and needs to beat Wyoming to guarantee it advances to the tournament, otherwise it is wait and see.

SENIOR DAY: The Broncos will honor their four seniors, Jessica Donahue, Danielle Boss, Shae Duffy and Alli O'Harra with a pre-match ceremony on Saturday in Bronco Gym.

SCOUTING BOISE STATE: The Broncos enter the week coming off a road split defeating Nevada (3-0) before falling at San Jose State (3-1) to snap a five-match win streak. Through 29 matches, Boise State is led by Lauren Ohlinger who has recorded team highs for kills (384), service aces (47) and points (460.5). The junior outside hitter leads the MW and is ranked 48th nationally for kills, 12th nationally for total service aces (2nd MW) and 36th in total points (2nd MW). Alyssa Wissinger is next with 171 kills and 128 blocks (1st MW).

As a team, Boise State hits .263 percent (2nd MW / 29th NCAA) and holds opponents to .194 percent (4th MW). The Broncos average 12.63 kills per set (6th MW), 2.75 blocks (1st MW / 9th NCAA) and 1.85 service aces (3rd MW / 18th NCAA). Boise State leads the MW and is second nationally for total blocks (297.5), and is first in the MW and seventh in NCAA for total service aces (200).

SCOUTING WYOMING: The Cowgirls enter the week at 16-12 overall and 8-8 in MW play, eighth place. They are coming off a pair of home wins last week over Colorado State (3-2) and Fresno State (3-1) to extend win streak to three. KC McMahon and Naya Shime lead Wyoming with 287 kills apiece. As a team, Wyoming hits .229 percent (5th MW) while their opponents have hit .217 (8th MW). Wyoming was picked to place fourth in the 2021 MW race.

THE WYOMING SERIES:  The all-time series is led by the Cowgirls at 16-15 overall. The Broncos won the first meeting this year 3-0 in Laramie (Sept. 25). Boise State leads the series in contests played at Boise by a six-win margin, 9-3. In addition, the Broncos also lead the conference series 11-9.

THE LAST TIME THE BRONCOS AND COWGIRLS MET:  LARAMIE, Wyo. (Sept. 25) -  Boise State swept Wyoming in three tight sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-19) out hitting the Cowgirls .409 percent to .191 percent. Leading the charge for the Broncos were freshman Jordan Miller, who had a career match with a team-high 15 kills while hitting .393 percent, and Lauren Ohlinger who followed by hitting an impressive .458 percent with 13 kills to go with seven digs. For Wyoming it was the Naya Shime show tallying 16 kills while hitting .400 percent, no one else reached double-figure kills.

SCOUTING COLORADO STATE: Colorado State enters the week in first place of the conference standings at 17-8 overall and 13-3 in league. They travel to Utah State on Thursday prior to their match in Boise Saturday afternoon. The Rams have a balanced offense with four players recording 200-plus kills on the year led by Kennedy Stanford with 282 and Annie Sullivan with 254. As a team, CSU hits .246 percent (3rd MW) while their opponents have hit .201 percent (5th MW). Colorado State was picked to finish third in the 2021 Mountain West race.

THE COLORADO STATE SERIES:  Colorado State has dominated the series and owns a 20-1 advantage all-time. The Rams swept the first meeting of the fall in Fort Collins (Sept. 23). CSU is 8-1 in Boise and leads the MW series 18-1.

THE LAST TIME VERSUS COLORADO STATE:  FORT COLLINS, Colo. (Sept. 23) - The Fort Collins jinx continued for Boise State who was swept on the road in its Mountain West Conference opener. Boise State has never won in Fort Collins and is now 0-12 all-time.
