Broncos Earn Six Top-10s in Vegas

LAS VEGAS - Boise State cross country opened the 2021 spring season in strong fashion at the Silver State Collegiate Cross Country Challenge. Each of the Bronco women's teams earned second-place honors while the men grabbed fourth and seventh in each of their races.

The Boise State women's blue squad garnered a second-place finish thanks to juniors Christina Geisler and Sailor Hutton who finished second and third respectively. Sophomore Julia Pleskaczynska made her cross country debut for the Broncos, earning the seventh-best mark.

In the men's blue race, sophomore Nathan Dunn led the way for the Broncos earning a 10th-place finish. In his first race with the Broncos, Murdoch McIntyre picked up a top 15 with a time of 24:52.5.

For the men in the yellow race, the Boise State squad featured four new faces. Leading the way was the graduate transfer, Dario De Caro who finished a team-high 18th.

Rounding out the day for the Broncos was the women's yellow race. The Broncos turned in a strong opening performance earning a second-place finish. They outpaced three other ranked teams including No. 8 Washington.

Freshman Tyler Beling led the way for Boise State with a third-place effort. Junior Olivia Johnson also garnered a top-10 finish, closing seventh. The Bronco scoring five all placed inside the top 20.

Boise State will take two weeks off before returning to Las Vegas for the second meet of the year, the Battle Born Collegiate Cross Country Challenge, Feb. 19.
