Broncos Return to Vegas for Battle Born Challenge

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State cross country teams return to Las Vegas, Nev., for the Battle Born Collegiate Cross Country Challenge, Feb. 19. The Broncos are making their second of three trips to Las Vegas this season.

The Boise State women enter the week ranked 11th in the nation and second in the Mountain West behind only No. 4 New Mexico. The Bronco men hold steady just outside the top-30. The men will face off against three teams ranked inside the top-10 including No. 2 NAU.

This will be Boise State's final meet before the Mountain West Championships, March 5. The MW Championships will also be held in Las Vegas.

LOGISTICS: The Battle Born Collegiate Cross Country Challenge will be held at the Craig Ranch Regional Park, in Las Vegas, Nev., on a two-kilometer course.

LAST TIME OUT: The Broncos return to Vegas after posting a strong showing against some of the top teams in the nation at the Silver State Challenge. The Boise State women's blue squad garnered a second-place finish thanks to juniors Christina Geisler and Sailor Hutton who finished second and third respectively.

The Bronco women in the yellow race staked an impressive season debut topping three other ranked teams en route to a second-place finish. Graduate transfer Tyler Beling led the way in her Boise State debut, finishing third and earning MW Athlete of the Week honors in the process. 

For the Boise State men, sophomores Nathan Dunn and Murdoch McIntyre led the way in the Blue race, finishing 10th and 12th respectively. 

Graduate transfer Dario De Caro led the way for the Broncos in the yellow race finishing a team-high 18th in his Boise State debut.
