Bronco Women Outpace Two Top-10 Programs

LAS VEGAS - The Boise State cross country team returned to Vegas for the Battle Born Collegiate Cross Country Challenge and the women toppled two top-10 squads in the process.
Over the past two meets, the women have outrun six top-30 teams and three higher-ranked teams. On the men's side, the Broncos finished two spots ahead of No. 25 Colorado State the highest-ranked Mountain West team in the field.
The men led off the day and graduate transfer Dario De Caro paced the Broncos. For the second-straight meet, De Caro led Boise State's men's squad finishing 13th with a time of 23:31.0. That mark shaved over 10 seconds off his time from two weeks ago on the same course.
Jack Leitch notched the first top-25 finish of his Boise State career. Jonathan Shields (30), Israel Anaya Carmona (43) and Max Polak (52) round out the Broncos scoring five.
The Bronco women continued an impressive run against top-10 competition. Led by graduate transfer Tyler Beling, Boise State outpaced No. 5 Colorado and No. 9 Washington.Â
Joining Beling in the top 10 was junior Olivia Johnson who finished seventh. Freshman Ines Borba logged a top-30 finish, her second of the year. Juniors Sailor Hutton and Christina Geisler close out the Boise State scoring group in 30th and 31st, respectively.
The Broncos will return to Boise and prepare for the Mountain West Championships in two weeks. The championships will also be held in Las Vegas.
