FULLERTON, Calif. - Boise State softball closed out its trip to southern California with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Cal State Fullerton Titans Sunday morning at Fullerton. The Titans scored three in the first and added a fourth in the sixth, then held off the Broncos who had bases loaded in the seventh but only managed to get one run across the plate.

The loss for the Broncos dropped them to 3-7 overall with a four-game trip to Eugene, Ore., to face Oregon and Portland State twice each on the schedule for next week.

Trailing by four, Isabelle Butler reached on a single down the middle, then scored the lone run of the game for Boise State on an error by Cal State Fullerton's shortstop on Ashlyn Adams' at bat. The Broncos left two on base in the inning as their rally came up short.

Offensively, the Broncos had four hits in the contest, Adams single up the middle in the third, Bella Rocco and Alison Seng each sent singles to the middle in the sixth, followed by Butler's single in the seventh. The Broncos stranded eight runners on base to Cal State Fullerton's three.

Boise State's Kiele Miller pitched five and a third innings tallying five strike outs while issuing two walks and allowing seven hits for four runs.
