THE MEET
The Boise State gymnastics team, ranked No. 25 in Road to Nationals, will be looking for its third victory over a top-25 program this week, as it hosts No. 23 Utah State at ExtraMile Arena, Saturday (Feb. 6). The Broncos and Aggies are slated to begin their meet at 6 p.m.

IN THE RANKINGS
Boise State checked in at No. 25 in this week's edition of Road to Nationals, the program's third-consecutive week in the top 25. The Broncos are led by their bars line-up, which ranks 10th nationally (49.183). Boise State ranks tied for 26th on vault (48.800), 31st on beam (48.533) and 41st on floor (48.633).

Individually, Emily Muhlenhaupt ranks tied for fourth nationally on bars (9.908), and also leads the Broncos on beam (T45th; 9.842). Gabriela Cavinta leads the Broncos on vault (T106th; 9.792), and Adriana Popp leads the team on floor (T43rd; 9.862).

STACKING TOP 25 WINS
The Broncos will be looking for a third victory over a top-25 opponent this week, having already knocked off No. 13 Oregon State (Jan. 15) and No. 14 BYU (Jan. 23) in the first two meets of the year. Utah State checked in at No. 23 in this week's Road to Nationals rankings.

WEEKLY HONORS
Senior Emily Muhlenhaupt posted back-to-back 9.950s to begin the 2021 season, earning MRGC Bars Specialist of the Week honors on both occasions. Redshirt senior Maddi Nilson tied her career high with a 9.875 on floor against BYU (Jan. 23), tying for the meet title and earning her first-career specialist of the week honor.

ROAD TO 10.0
Senior Emily Muhlenhaupt became the third gymnast in Boise State history to record a 9.975 on bars, Feb. 1, 2019, and did it again twice during the 2020 season. She scored a 9.950 in each of her first two routines this season. If she is able to notch a 10.0, it will be the first such score on bars in school history, and just the fifth on any apparatus all-time. Most recently, Ciera Perkins registered a 10.0 on vault, Jan. 30, 2015. It was the third perfect vault in school history, a mark also achieved by Julie Wagner (March 20, 1993) and Leslie Mott (March 23, 1996). On beam, Marie Lucas registered a 10.0, Feb. 27, 2002.

CONFERENCE TITLES/REGIONALS
The Broncos captured their fifth-consecutive Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference title in 2019, but were unable to defend the championship following the cancellation of the year due to the COVID-19 pandemic prior to the conclusion of the regular season. The five-straight titles were the longest by a Boise State program since the football team also won five-straight in the Western Athletic Conference from 2002-06. The only program with a longer streak in Boise State history was the wrestling team, which won seven-straight Big Sky Conference Championships from 1974-80.  Boise State also made 12-consecutive NCAA Regional Championship appearances before this past season, which was canceled due to COVID-19 prior to the conclusion of the regular season.

WHAT'S NEXT?
A rematch with the Aggies is on tap for next week, with the Broncos traveling to Logan, Utah, for a second-straight meet against Utah State. The dual is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., Feb. 13 (Saturday).
