Beach Volleyball Sweeps CSUN 5-0

The Boise State Beach Volleyball team swept CSUN 5-0 Saturday Afternoon in Los Angeles.

LOS ANGELES – Rori Chartier and Kaylee Mejia improved to 3-0 on the weekend as Boise State beach volleyball swept CSUN 5-0 Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles.
 
Katie Martin and Sierra Land started things off for the Broncos on court four, winning in two sets 21-13, 21 over the Matadors' Kailey Klein and Lauren McMurray. Sedona Hansen and Joey Benson finished their match in two sets as well, downing Seyvion Waggoner and Lexi McLeod 21-16, 21-18.
 
Evi Wilson and Erin Martin were able to clinch the match for Boise State, winning their court one match against Lauren Eknoian and Meagan Carter 21-19, 21-12 to seal the victory for their team.
 
Chartier and Mejia kept the ball rolling for the Blue and Orange, battling back from a first-set loss to win 12-21, 21-16, 15-11 over Darbi Honeycutt and Mikaela Maughan to put the Broncos up 4-0. Kylee Johnson and Yasmin Tan put the icing on the cake for Boise State as they won 19-21, 21-17, 15-12 on court five to complete the Bronco sweep.
 
Up next for Boise State are meetings with two top-15 teams Sunday in San Luis Obispo, Calif. The first match of the day will pit the Broncos up with No. 15 Arizona at 9 a.m. MT. The Wildcats bested the Broncos in their meeting earlier this season in a 5-0 sweep (March 7). After that the Broncos will face No. 5 Cal Poly at 11 a.m. MT.
