Boise State Picks Up a Pair of Sweeps Over LCSC and Seattle U

LEWISTON, Idaho - Boise State men's tennis was dominating on Saturday as the Broncos picked up a pair of 7-0 sweeps over Lewis-Clark State and Seattle U in Lewiston, Idaho. Boise State lost only two sets all day as it went 4-0 in doubles and 12-0 in singles play. All nine student-athletes saw action and wins on the day as the Broncos moved to 7-1 overall with an encounter versus instate-rival Idaho scheduled for Sunday morning at the LCSC Tennis Center. 
 

RECAP: Boise State Beats Lewis-Clark State 7-0

The Blue and Orange opened the day with a quick victory over the LCSC Warriors. The Broncos began by claiming the team doubles points with wins on courts three and one, respectively.

Lukas Ridemar and Caden Moortgat started things rolling with a 6-2 victory at the No. 3 doubles position, followed by Simon Arca Costas and Blake Bayldon taking No. 1 doubles 6-4 to clinch the point.

Michael Bott struck first in singles winning his match on court three in straight sets 6-1, 6-1. He was followed by Lawrence Sciglitano on court four where he blew past Andre Du Plessis in two sets 6-4, 6-0. 

Arca Costas brought home the clinching victory on court one 7-6(1), 6-2 over KiKuchi Itaru as he improved to 3-0 on the year with the win.

Boise State also earned wins by Luka Soskic 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles, Ridemar 6-0, 6-0 on court five and Moortgat 6-1, 6-2 at the sixth position. It was Moortgat's first career singles win at Boise State. 

 

RECAP: Boise State Downs Seattle U 7-0

The night cap went the same way as the earlier contest ending in a 7-0 sweep over Seattle U out of the Western Athletic Conference. Boise State earned the doubles point 2-0, then swept the six singles contests, four of them in straight sets. 

The Blue and Orange claimed the team doubles point with wins on courts three and two, respectively. Wyatt DeMulling and Sciglitano claimed an easy 6-1 win at the threes, followed by a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles by Ridemar and Soskic. 

In singles the first off the court was Bott who defeated Mats Krause 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 4 singles position. Arca Costas moved Boise State to within one of clinching when he downed Julian Worn 6-0, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Bott is now 4-1 and Arca Costas is 4-0 in singles on the year.

Kyryll Kryvchun secured the victory for the Broncos when he rallied from one set down to defeat Lucas Cerbelli in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. That win gave the Broncos the 4-0 lead to clinch the team victory.  

The last three singles victories came from Bayldon on court one 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Ridemar made it 6-0 Broncos with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the sixth spot, while DeMulling claimed the final win 6-4, 6-1 on court five.
