Bayldon and Arca Costas Receive All-MW Accolades

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State senior Blake Bayldon and redshirt-sophomore Simon Arca Costas have been named to the postseason 2021 All-Mountain West Team for men's tennis as announced from the league's office this afternoon. Both Broncos earned postseason honors for their singles play.Â
This is the first All-MW accolade for Bayldon in singles after earning the recognition for doubles in 2020 while paired with Arca Costas. The senior from Dural, N.S.W., Australia, finished the season at 11-3 overall and went 8-2 while playing the No. 1 position for the Broncos, including a 3-1 conference mark. Â He recorded conference victories over Nevada's, Air Force's and Utah State's top players during the league campaign. Bayldon finished his Boise State career going 26-15 overall in singles and his collegiate career at 49-18. In doubles, he went 30-10 at Boise State and 64-23 overall during his collegiate career.
Joining Bayldon on the 2021 All-MW singles team is Arca Costas. The redshirt-sophomore from Vigo, Spain, also earned All-MW honors for singles in 2021, his first accolade for singles. He also received All-MW honors in 2020 as Bayldon's doubles partner. In 2021, Arca Costas went a team-best 13-2 in singles splitting time primarily between the No. 2 and 3 positions. The Spaniard went 4-2 in league play collecting wins versus San Diego State's, New Mexico's and Air Force's No. 3 players, while defeating Nevada's No. 2 player.
These two awards give Boise State 16 All-Mountain West honors overall since joining the conference.
