WHAT'S NEXT?
The Boise State women's tennis team (9-3, 3-1 MW) hit the road for two matches in Logan, Utah, against Utah State (April 9) and San Jose State (April 10). After going 1-1 last weekend, the Broncos still find themselves amongst the top teams in the Mountain West Conference as they are currently tied for second. The Broncos' matchup against the Spartans will pit two of the top teams in the conference against each other, as San Jose State currently sits in first in the standings with a 3-0 record.Â
THE OPPONENTS
THE UTAH STATE AGGIES: Utah State will take on the Broncos with a 6-8 record overall, and a 1-3 mark in conference play. Their nonconference schedule was rather strong as three of their losses came against the likes of Denver, Colorado and BYU. The Aggies also suffered a loss to UNLV last weekend, falling 4-0 in their match against the Rebels.Â
THE SAN JOSE SPARTANS:Â San Jose State has established themselves as the top team in the MW this season, boasting an impressive 10-0 record overall including 3-0 in conference play. Last weekend the Spartans defeated Nevada 4-0 and Fresno State 4-3. The Broncos are 6-2 all-time against the Spartans, but the last time these two faced each other ended in a win for the Spartans in 2018.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos hosted their final two home matches of the season last weekend against UNLV and San Diego State. The team lost a close 4-2 match against UNLV in which they were competitive in the singles contests but could not overcome dropping the doubles point in the beginning of the match.Â
Boise State bounced back the next day as they defeated San Diego State 4-2 for the first time in program history. Vanessa Timm's senior-day match had the perfect ending as her win in singles on court four clinched the team victory  for the Broncos.

STATS TO WATCH FOR
It is hard to overstate just how good true-freshman Pauline Ernstberger has been for the Broncos this season. The German product is a combined 19-2 across all singles and doubles matches this year. Her 9-1 mark in singles includes a 5-0 record at the No. 2 position, and in doubles she has gone 10-1 at the No. 2 position alongside partner Holly Stewart. Both her singles and doubles records lead the team this season.Â
Boise State's singles play has been hot as of late. Six Broncos are currently on win streaks, while four are on streaks of five wins in a row. Boise State will need that trend to continue if they want to knock off San Jose State this weekend.
