CLOVIS, Calif. – Qualifying was the name of the game on Friday and Boise State track and field secured eight spots in Saturday's finals on day two of the Mountain West Championships at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

Kristie Schoffield led the way for three Bronco women to qualify in the 800-meters. She finished with a time of 2:09.40. Joining her in Saturday's final will be MaLeigha Menegatti and Kelly Moodry.

Brayden Durfee recorded a pair of personal bests on the day. He finished the 100m with a time of 10.79, shaving off .17 of a second off. Durfee also set a new mark in the 200m at 21.59, a tenth of a second faster than his previous best.

Jacob Grinwis cruised to a victory in his heat of the men's 800m with a time of 1:51.60 and locked in the second spot in Saturday's final.

In the men's steeplechase, Israel Anaya-Carmona finished sixth and secured two points for the Boise State men, bringing the team total to 13.

Malia Pivec closed out the night by notching a personal-best time of 10:19.85 and three points for the Bronco women with a sixth-place finish in the women's steeplechase.

The final day of competition will begin with the men's javelin throw Saturday at 1 p.m. MT. Track events commence with the men's 4x100m relay at 7 p.m. MT.
