9/10/2021 8:57:00 PM | Women's Volleyball

Jessica Donahue played for the first time this season against CSUN.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.  - Lauren Ohlinger and Danielle Boss both recorded double-doubles to lead Boise State past CSUN 3-1 Friday night at the Sacramento State Invitational. The Boise State defense was key in the match recording a season-high 15 blocks while holding the Matadors to .151 percent hitting. The victory improved the Broncos to 7-1 overall with one contest remaining in Sacramento on Saturday afternoon versus Sacramento State.

For the third time this season the Broncos started slow, dropping the opening set, then rallied for the win. The first set went to extra points before CSUN came out on top 30-28. Boise State rolled in the second period winning it by 12 points before having to hold off a pesky Matador team for tight wins in the final two periods. When it was all done, the Blue and Orange had to rally from four points down to win set four, but eventually pulled it out for a tough 28-30, 25-13, 25-21, 26-24 victory.

Ohlinger recorded her fourth double-double of the season on a team-high 16 kills and 13 digs tog o with two block assists for 17.0 points.

Boss also recorded her fourth double-double of the season — in a row — with a team-high 43 assists and 10 digs.

Jessica Donahue saw her first action of the season and did not disappoint hitting a career-high .706 percent with 12 kills and no hitting errors 17 attacks. She also added two service aces and six blocks to finish with 17 points.

Alyssa Wissinger led the blue wall Friday night recording a team-high nine blocks to go with 11 kills, just missing out on a double-double.
