BOISE, Idaho – Boise State redshirt-junior Stefan Cobbs was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll, Monday, for his historic performance in Friday's 54-13 victory over UTEP. He was one of five players recognized.

The Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse, now in its 12th season, is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission to pay tribute to football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung, who passed away in Nov. 2020.

In the first quarter, Cobbs returned a punt 81 yards for a touchdown, tying former Bronco and current Atlanta Falcon Avery Williams for the sixth-longest return in school history. It was also the first punt return for a score since Williams in the 2020 Mountain West Championship against San Jose State.

The Fort Worth, Texas native added a 61-yard touchdown receiving in the second quarter, becoming the first Bronco since John Hightower (2018 vs. Connecticut) to have two 50-plus yard touchdowns in the same game.

The wide receiver has notched 124 yards receiving through the first two games of the season, averaging 24.8 yards per catch.

Next, Boise State (1-1, 0-0 MW) hosts No. 23 Oklahoma State (2-0, 0-0 Big 12) Saturday at 7 p.m. MT on FS1.
