BREMERTON, Wash. – Skyler Eubank and Joe Neuheisel each placed in the top 10 of the Boise State men's golf season-opening tournament at the Husky Invitational at Gold Mountain Olympic Course, Tuesday afternoon. Boise State finished fourth overall in the tournament behind Oregon State, Nevada and host Washington.

The Broncos ended the tournament 8-under par (279-288-289—856) and placed above Power 5 schools Oregon and Missouri and Mountain West rival San Jose State. Washington and Nevada finished in a tie for first as each school recorded 18-under, 846.

"We had a lot more good moments than bad this week, but still plenty we can clean up," said head coach Dan Potter. "It was an awesome finish by Skyler when we needed it today and Joe had a nice tournament as well. The course was a good test and it exposed a lot of weaknesses. We'll get back to work and do what we can to be better next week."

Eubank (68-73-69—210) used an eagle on the 11th hole in round three to help secure a tie for fifth at 6-under. His finish was the highest by a Bronco in a season-opening event since Donny Hopoi won the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate in 2017. His two rounds under par moved him past Brian Humphreys for second all-time in program history with 54.

Neuheisel (69-69-73—211) fired back-to-back 69s in the first two rounds on Monday and earned a tie for eighth at 5-under, his second career top-10 finish.

Hugo Townsend ended round one in a tie for second after making five-straight birdies on his way to carding a 5-under 67. Despite an even-par 72 in the final round he finished just outside the top 10, tying for 11th at 4-under (67-73-72—212). This was Townsend's 21st top-25 finish of his career, tying Matt Hastings and Troy Merritt for most all time in program history. The Swede also surpassed Merritt for career rounds under par with 52, ranking fourth in program history.

Max Charles (78-73-75—225) tied for 63rd and Alex Talbot (75-79-77—231) tied for 77th to round out five for the Broncos.

Nick Hedman (75-70-71—216) made his Bronco debut and earned a top-25 finish in the individual tournament. Hedman shot back-to-back rounds under par to place in a tie for 20th. Connor Higgins also debuted in the individual tournament scoring 72-74-78—224 and finishing 35th.

Up next, the Broncos will travel to Boulder, Colo., for the Mark Simpson Invitational, Sept. 27-28.
