LARAMIE, Wyo. – Wyoming held Boise State to 28 percent shooting and the Cowgirls earned a regular-season series split with the Broncos with a 61-47 win, Wednesday.
Paula Salazar and Alba Sanchez Ramos each scored 15 points for the Cowgirls (7-9, 3-4 Mountain West) who lost to the Broncos (7-12, 3-5) 70-59 in Boise a week ago.
"It was really reminiscent of our game against Wyoming in the Mountain West Tournament last year," Boise State Head Coach Gordy Presnell said. "We never established post play whatsoever. We had great effort for the first two and a half quarters, but we have to do a better job offensively."
Mary Kay Naro led Boise State with nine points. Trista Hull added eight points and a career-high 11 rebounds while Jayda Clark chipped in eight points off the bench.
The Broncos led 6-5 before the Cowgirls went on a 9-0 run to take a 14-6 lead. Wyoming never trailed after that, although Boise State pulled within a basket on two occasions in the second quarter.
Boise State plays at San Jose State, Saturday at 1 p.m. PT/2 p.m. MT.
