Shields Adds John Chin for Spring 2023

Chin will join the team in January.
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Men's Tennis Head Coach Luke Shields announced today the addition of John Chin for the spring 2023 campaign. Chin is a sophomore transfer from Middle Tennessee State where he played for one season accumulating a combined 20 wins for the Blue Raiders.

"We are really excited to add John to our team," said Shields. "He has a lot of the core values that we look for in recruits. We see John coming in right away and making an impact on this team. John has some big goals. We are thrilled to work with him in accomplishing those."

As a freshman in 2021-22, the native of Mandeville, Jamaica, tallied a 14-6 singles record while going 6-10 in doubles. During team duals in the spring, he played in nine singles contests splitting time between the fourth through sixth positions going undefeated at 8-0. In doubles action, he played in four matches with a different partner each time going 3-0 – with one unfinished contest – and playing all three positions.

Chin will enroll at Boise State during the winter break in preparation for the spring team dual season.
