Broncos to Compete at ITA Mountain Regional Championships

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State men's tennis will travel to Provo, Utah to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Mountain Regional Championships Oct. 6-10.
The tournament will include 106 student-athletes divided into the qualifying and main draw.
The Broncos will have a chance to qualify for the ITA West Sectional Championships Nov. 5-8. Additionally, the two singles finalists and the doubles champion will earn automatic bids to the NCAA Championships Nov. 17-22.
Six Broncos have become ITA regional champions, with the most recent being Damian Hume in 2011. Head coach Luke Shields is the only Bronco to win the championship two times (2005, 2007).
THE SCHEDULE
- The tournament will begin on Oct. 6 and run through Oct. 10. All matches will be streamed on Track Tennis and results will be available here.
THE FIELD
Boise State will compete in the mountain region which includes: Air Force, BYU, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Idaho, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Southern Utah, UNLV, Utah, Utah State, Weber State and Wyoming.
REPRESENTING BOISE STATE
Boise State will have eight student-athletes competing in the ITA Mountain Regional Championships. Doubles pairs include: Eyad Ezzat and Julius Seifert, Stewart Aronson and Filip Soderqvist, Michael Seversen and Brayden Tallakson and Izan Orgiles and Arsene Pougault. Competing in the qualifying draw in singles will be Seversen and Brayden Tallakson. Boise State will have six student-athletes in the singles main draw: Aronson, Ezzat, Orgiles, Pougault, Seifert and Soderqvist.

LAST TIME OUT
Boise State has participated in three tournaments so far this fall season. Aronson, Pougault and Soderqvist competed in the ITA All-American Championships where Soderqvist picked up his first ranked win of the season and second of his collegiate career. The Blue and Orange held its annual Dar Walters Fall Classic where Orgiles and Seifert were named champions. In their most recent competition, Orgiles picked up two singles wins and Aronson recorded one singles win at the Battle in the Bay Classic.

WHAT'S NEW
The Broncos added two freshmen: Ezzat (Cairo, Egypt) and Brayden Tallakson (Irvine, Calif.). The Blue and Orange also welcomed two transfers: Orgiles (North Alabama) and Pougault (Arkansas).
WHAT'S BACK
Boise State returns five players: Aronson, Seifert, Seversen, Soderqvist and Avery Tallakson.
2026 SPRING SEASON
In the championship round of the Mountain West tournament, Boise State fell to Utah State 4-3. Boise State recorded a 22-9 overall record and went 4-3 in conference play. Aronson and Tallakson were named to the All-MW Singles team, and Tallakson also earned All-MW Doubles. Aronson earned an ITA year-end ranking of No. 50, while Soderqvist was ranked No. 66.
