COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Six Broncos earned All-Mountain West honors, Sunday afternoon. Boise State landed two players on the Mountain West All-Conference first team, three on the second team and one on the newcomer team.
Goalkeeper Genevieve Crenshaw and defender Jocelyn Stephens each represented the Blue and Orange on the All-Mountain West first team for their part in Boise State's historic defensive season. Crenshaw started all 11 conference matches in net for the Broncos, shutting out eight of her 11 opponents faced. Stephens started all 11 matches as well and played the full 990 minutes, anchoring a backline that allowed just 30 shots on goal during conference play (2.7 per). The eight shutouts by the Broncos in league play tied San Jose State (2018) for the most in a single season in MW history.
Boise State was represented on the All-Mountain West second team by midfielder Morgan Stone, and defenders Macie Nelson and Dorian Goodwin. Stone earned the postseason honor after starting all 11 matches while tallying a goal and three assists, two of which led to game-winning goals. Nelson and Goodwin each played in all 11 conference matches as part of a defense that allowed just 0.45 goals per match, ranking first in the league.
Hayden Wilsey earned herself a spot on the all-conference newcomer team after the freshman appeared in all 11 conference matches at the forward position for the Broncos. The Boise-native scored the game-winning goal against San Diego State (Oct. 23) and posted a shot on goal percentage of .500.
Boise State placed more players on the first and second teams combined (5) than any school in the conference. Each Bronco who earned a postseason award this year did so for the first time in their respective careers, barring Nelson who was the conference defensive player of the year during the 2021 spring season.
