Degenhart leads Broncos with 19 points

BOISE, Idaho – Tyson Degenhart led the way with 19 points to lift Boise State men's basketball to a 76-58 victory over Carroll College in Tuesday night's exhibition game at ExtraMile Arena.

Degenhart and Marcus Shaver, Jr. each scored nine points in the first half while Chibuzo Agbo added eight of his own as the Broncos took a 36-25 lead heading into halftime.

In the second half Carroll College used a 6-0 run to cut the Boise State lead to single digits with just over 12 minutes to play. The Broncos responded with an 11-2 run of their own to build its lead to 18 with just over nine minutes left. Boise State never led by less than 16 the remainder of the way.

Tyson Degenhart led the Broncos with 19 points on 6-of-8 shooting including a perfect 3-of-3 from downtown.
Marcus Shaver, Jr. scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor while adding three rebounds and three assists.
Max Rice led the Broncos in assists (4) and co-led the team in rebounds with Lukas Milner (6).

"We put so much emphasis on player development," said head coach Leon Rice. "Credit goes to Tyson for his work ethic in the offseason and his extra time in the gym. That's been the biggest thing with him."
"The nice thing about an exhibition game is you can allow them to play through mistakes," said Rice. "You can see them and look at them on film and learn how to work around those."

The Broncos held the Saints to 11-percent shooting from beyond the arc (1-for-9)
Boise State outrebounded Carroll College 33-24 including a 9-3 advantage on the offensive glass.
