Broncos never trail in 15-point win

FORT WORTH, Texas – Led by 20-point games from Max Rice and Marcus Shaver, Jr., and a double-double from Chibuzo Agbo, Boise State defeated Texas A&M to win its lone game at The Battleground 2k22 86-71, Saturday night at Dickies Arena.

The Broncos (6-2) never trailed on the night to pick up the program's fourth win all-time against the SEC, with all four wins coming under Leon Rice's tenure as head coach.
Tyson Degenhart opened the scoring with a three-pointer at the wing in the opening minute of the game, and Boise State never trailed from that moment forward.

The Aggies (5-3) pulled within eight at the under-four media timeout, but a three-pointer from Max Rice started a 16-9 run over the final four minutes for the Broncos. Rice finished with a career-high 25 points.

  • Redshirt senior Max Rice scored a career-high 25 points off 8-of-12 shooting from the field.
  • Fifth-year senior Marcus Shaver, Jr. scored 20 points for his 16th career 20-point game. Shaver was 11-of-12 from the free throw line.
  • Junior Chibuzo Agbo recorded his first double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, a career-high for the latter stat.

  • Boise State improved its record to 4-4 all-time against the SEC. All four wins have come under head coach Leon Rice.

  • The Broncos posted season highs in assists (19) and three-pointers (11).
