Cross Country Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State cross country programs earned 2021 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country County Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic Team honors. Additionally, seniors Dario De Caro and Logan Rees garnered All-Academic accolades individually.

To be eligible for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.

Individually, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.

The Bronco men posted a 3.37 GPA, while the women's squad registered a program-record 3.65 GPA.

De Caro (3.8, mechanical engineering), the 2021 Mountain West Champion, was Boise State's top finisher at the NCAA West Regional, securing eighth, while Rees (4.0, environmental governance) finished 18th.

Overall, 83 men from 40 different institutions were named All-Academic Athletes. De Caro and Rees were two of three MW men to earn the award (Ryan Ioanidis, Air Force).
