Broncos Downed by Lobos

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Dominique Leonidas scored a team-high 18 points in her final regular season road game, but New Mexico defeated the Broncos 89-62, Saturday afternoon.
 
Leonidas finished 9 of 14 from the floor while Elodie Lalotte added 10 points. Abby Muse just missed a double-double with nine points and a game high 11 rebounds.
 
New Mexico (22-7, 13-3 Mountain West) made its first five shots, led by as many as 14 points in the first quarter and held a 28-16 advantage after 10 minutes.
 
Boise State (8-18, 4-11) closed within 31-22 on a jumper by Leonidas at the 6:09 mark of the second quarter before the Lobos outscored the Broncos 11-4 to lead 42-26 at the break.
 
The Broncos shot the ball well in the third quarter (53 percent), but the Lobos were better (67 percent) and the New Mexico lead grew to 70-44 after three quarters.
 
Boise State returns home to face Nevada, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
