SAN ANTONIO – Boise State routed UMass 11-3 in six innings, Sunday at the Cardinal Invitational hosted by UIW.
The Broncos (9-1), who are off the best start in school history, collected 11 hits, including six for extra bases.
"We are excited about where we are at this point of the season," Boise State Head Coach Justin Shults said. "Our offense is starting to figure out how to work as a unit instead of waiting for one big swing. Our pitching has been the backbone of our team and all three of our starters are doing a good job."
Serena Huchingson was 3-for-3 with a double, home run, three RBI and three runs. Kelsey Hall added three hits in four trips to the plate and knocked in three runs.
Sara Johnson (2-1) earned the win for Boise State, giving up three runs in four innings. Hannah Bailey and Grace Kimball blanked the Minutewomen (4-5) over the final two innings.
Boise State travels to UCSB for a tournament, Feb. 25-27.
