Broncos Drop First Game of Gaucho Classic

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Boise State committed three errors that proved costly in a 4-3 loss to Idaho State, Friday.
The Bengals (6-7) scored once in the second and three times in the fourth off Boise State (9-2) starter Hannah Bailey (3-1). Two of the four runs were unearned.
In the bottom of the fourth, Alycia Flores led off with a double, took third on a wild pitch and scored on a two-out double by Kelsey Lalor.
The Broncos closed within 4-3 in the sixth when Jordyn Hutchins opened the frame with a home run and three errors by Idaho State allowed another run to score.
Boise State threatened to tie or win the game in its last at bat. Eliyah Flores was hit by a pitch and took second on a single by Autumn Bennett. Kelsey Hall moved both runners up with a sacrifice and Idaho State intentionally walked Hutchins.
However, Alycia Flores popped up and Bella Rocco hit a comebacker to end the game.
The Broncos play at UC Santa Barbara, Saturday at 12:45 p.m. MT before facing Providence at 3 p.m.
