Broncos Defeated by Bobcats

3/6/2022 6:05:00 PM | Softball

TUCSON, Ariz. – Texas State scored three runs in the first and sixth innings and defeated Boise State 6-2 at the Wildcat Invitational, Sunday.

The Bobcats (10-6) chased Taylor Caudill (6-2) in the first inning with two hits and four walks.

The Broncos (16-4) answered in the top of the second with a two-out, RBI-double by Abby Bumcrot. In the fifth, Alycia Flores pulled the Broncos within 3-2 with a run-scoring single.

"It was not our best softball today," Boise State Head Coach Justin Shults said. "But we had some positives. Sara Johnson did a nice job this weekend getting back to where she was late fall and in January. Abby Bumcrot is doing a great job for us both behind and at the plate."

The Broncos begin a five-game road trip with a doubleheader at Houston, Thursday at 4 p.m. CT/3 p.m. MT.
