Broncos Blanked by Rebels

BOISE, Idaho – UNLV scored seven times in the first inning and posted a 9-0 victory in over No. 23 Boise State in the opener of a Mountain West softball series, Friday.
The Rebels (25-6, 3-1 MW) took advantage of four walks and chase Boise State (27-6, 6-1) starter Taylor Caudill after one-third of an inning.
UNLV added two runs in the fourth and Jenny Bressler (13-4) held the Broncos to one run in the five-inning shutout.
"We let our emotions get the best of us," Bronco Head Coach Justin Shults said. "You have to credit UNLV. I expect us to have more fight tomorrow."
The Broncos and Rebels continue their three-game series, Saturday at 4 p.m.
