Five Broncos Earn All-Conference Accolades

BOISE, Idaho – Five Boise State track and field student-athletes were named all-conference honorees for their performances at the 2022 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the conference announced, Thursday.
The all-conference team is composed of the top-three individuals and relay teams in each event at the MW Championships.
The Broncos' five honorees accounted for six spots on the list, led by the MW Men's Most Outstanding Performer of the Meet, Dario De Caro. The distance standout secured two honors and was the only student-athlete at the conference championships to win two individual events on the track, garnering gold in the men's 5,000-meter and 10,000m races.
On the women's side, four members of the Blue and Orange recorded top-three finishes. Senior Kristie Schoffield topped the podium in the women's 800m run en route to setting a MW Championships meet record, while MaLeigha Menegatti took second.
Additionally, junior Dafni Georgiou and sophomore Nyenuchi Okemgbo earned all-conference status for their second-place performances in the women's 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles, respectively.
Next, Boise State travels to Fayetteville, Ark., for the NCAA West Preliminaries, May 25-28.
