BOISE, Idaho – Boise State volleyball has been recognized for the fourth consecutive year for academics by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) as announced Monday. The Broncos are the recipients of the UMCS/ACVA Team Academic Award.
Â
Boise State is one of seven Mountain West teams to be recognized for the 2021-22 season. The Broncos recorded a 3.439 team GPA.Â
The award is given on an annual basis to programs based on the team's cumulative grade point average (GPA) for a single year. This is the third-straight year and fourth time in the last five that the Broncos have earned this accolade. Boise State was one of seven Mountain West schools honored by the AVCA.
The AVCA award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.
