COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second-straight week Boise State women's soccer has swept the Mountain West weekly awards, the league office announced Monday afternoon. The Broncos have now claimed eight out of 15 possible weekly awards from the conference this season, more than double that of the next-closest program in Colorado College (3).
Hayden Wilsey has been named the MW Freshman of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks, this time for scoring a brace against Eastern Washington in the Broncos' 4-0 victory, Sunday.
The freshman of the week honor is the third-straight for the Boise native, two more than any other rookie in the league. The MW's leading-goal-scorer is also the only player to be named offensive player of the week multiple times this season.
Genevieve Crenshaw picked up her second defensive player of the week honor this season after leading the Broncos' defense to two shutouts this weekend. The goalkeeper played the full-90 minutes in each of the contests, earning her first clean sheets of the 2022 campaign.
Boise State opens its MW season this week at home with matches against UNLV (Sept. 22) and Nevada (Sept. 25). Tickets can be purchased in advance on BroncoSports.com.
