BOISE, Idaho – Boise State beach volleyball released its 2022 fall schedule, head coach Allison Voigt announced on Tuesday.
The 2022 season marks the first time that NCAA beach volleyball will compete in the fall. Per NCAA rules, competition in the fall will consist solely of pairs tournaments. The format for the spring season will remain the same.
The Bronco's fall schedule consists of five pairs tournaments, culminating in the AVCA National Pairs Championship in Huntsville, Ala., Nov. 4-6. The spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
"We are very excited to be able to compete in the fall," Voigt said. "It adds another season where we're able to gain some experience against high-level competition while allowing us to find what pairs work well together. We'll also have the ability to send one of our teams to the National Pairs Championship, which is a great opportunity to compete against the best of the best."
Boise State will hit the sand for the first time in Seattle, Wash., at the Alki Pairs Tournament, Oct. 8-9. The Broncos return home the following weekend to host the inaugural Boise State Pairs Classic, Oct. 14-15, at the Boise State Beach Volleyball Complex.
The team will take two trips to California, beginning with the Sand Court Experts Collegiate Pairs West Coast Championships in Manhattan Beach, Calif., Oct. 21-23, followed by the Relentless Collegiate Challenge in Huntington Beach, Calif., Oct. 29-30.
The fall season will conclude with two concurrent events. One pair will compete at the AVCA National Pairs Championships in Huntsville, Ala., Nov. 4-6., while the remainder of the team will travel to Grand Canyon to compete at the Lopes Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz.
Voigt returns for her fourth season as the head coach of the program after leading the team to a 20-9 dual record last spring, the best record in program history.
Boise State joined the Southland Conference in beach volleyball in June 2022, and will compete as a member of the conference for the 2023 spring season.
