BOISE, Idaho – In its third match of the opening weekend the Boise State women's tennis team swept Lewis-Clark State 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center. The Broncos are now 3-0 to start the season for the first time since 2014.

The Broncos (3-0) swept all three doubles matches to open the contest, taking a 1-0 lead over the Warriors (1-2) as singles play began. Bhakti Shah got things rolling in singles, picking up a straight-set victory on court three which was quickly followed up by wins from Lorelyz Marruffo on court one and Ana Conde Vendrell on court five.

Ryan Kershner was next as she picked up her first-career duals victory at the No. 6 position, while Shauna Heffernan took care of business in straight-sets on court four. Nicole Discenza completed the Bronco sweep as she took home her match at No. 2 singles.

"I think the team did a phenomenal job this weekend," said head coach Beck Roghaar. "Our job as a coaching staff is to present them opportunities to grow and we definitely got some of those in this weekend. We saw a lot of really good things and were able to see where we want to continue to move things forward."
"It was a great day for us and we overcame a couple of challenges," said Ana Conde Vendrell. "It was great to be out there with the team and I think we showed how tough we are and that we're quite dangerous."

Notables

Boise State remains undefeated all time against Lewis-Clark State with a 21-0 record.
Boise State is now 3-0 for the first time since 2013-14.
