INDIANAPOLIS – Former Bronco Marisa Howard was selected to represent Team USA in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2023 Pan American Games at the Julio Martinez National Stadium located in Santiago, Chile, Nov. 4.
Â
This will be Howard's second time competing at the Pan American Games after garnering a silver medal finish in 2019 with a time of 9:43.78. She is also one of two athletes selected to represent the United States in the 3,000m-steeplechase.
Â
The honor comes following her most recent performance in Eugene, Ore., at the USA Championships, July 6-8. Howard crossed the finish line of finals in fifth with a time of 9:22.73, ten seconds behind champion Krissy Gear who had a time of 9:12.81. That mark was her fastest of the season and only four-hundredths of a second off her lifetime best.
