10/12/2023 8:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
LAS VEGAS – Boise State men's basketball has been predicted to finish second in the Mountain West, while Tyson Degenhart has been voted to the Preseason All-Mountain West team. The news was announced in conjunction with the beginning of Mountain West Media Day.
The Broncos tallied 299 points in the preseason poll including four first-place votes. Boise State was picked second behind San Diego State, and ahead of New Mexico and Nevada in third and fourth, respectively.
Degenhart was selected to the preseason team after a banner sophomore season. The Spokane, Wash., native averaged 15.1 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game, with a 31:17 assist-to-turnover rations off 59.3% shooting from the field in conference games last season.
Degenhart is the only forward selected to the preseason team.
Boise State is the only school other than the Aztecs to collect multiple first-place votes in the preseason poll.
The Broncos are represented by head coach Leon Rice, Degenhart and sixth-year guard Max Rice at Mountain West Media Day, live from Hilton Resorts World in Las Vegas. Boise State opens the season Nov. 7 against Vanguard, followed by a Nov. 12 game against San Francisco. Both games will be at ExtraMile Arena.
Tickets for the 2023-24 season can be purchased by calling the Boise State Athletic Ticket Office at (208) 426-4737 or by logging on to broncosports.com/tickets. Boise State announced that season tickets in the lower two levels of the parquet and mezzanine are sold out, but multiple options are available for fans wanting to catch the Broncos at ExtraMile Arena this season.
