Boise State To Host Mountain West Cross Country Championships

The Boise State cross country team is set to host the Mountain West Championships at Eagle Island Park in Eagle, Idaho, Oct. 27.

Notables:
- The race will take place at Eagle Island State Park in Eagle, Idaho.
- The men's 8-kilometer race will begin at 10:15 a.m. MT and the women's 6-kilometer race will begin at 11 a.m. MT.
- Two award ceremonies will follow the women's race, with the men's starting at 12 p.m. MT and the women's at 12:15 p.m MT.
- The first seven finishers at the 2023 championship will receive first-team accolades, while the next seven will receive second-team honors.
- The first-place finishers at the championships are awarded Athlete of the Year, with the first true freshman finishers being named Freshman of the Year.
- Spectators may park in any of the open spots located in the main parking field of the park with an entry fee of $7.Â
- The Bronco Athletic Association will be offering complimentary pastries, coffee and juice to the public while supplies last beginning at 9 a.m. MT. The tent will be located at the front of the entryway across from the retail tent.
- The men's cross country team enters the meet with a national ranking of No. 23 and a West region ranking of No. 2.
- Senior Joe Hudson led the men's team to capture an 18th-place finish at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, defeating eight-nationally ranked teams (at the time).
- Sophomore Kaiya Robertson led the women's team for the second time this season with an 81st-place finish to help the Broncos finish 28th as a team at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational.
- Boise State placed fifth in both the men's 8k and the women's 6k at the 2022 Mountain West Championships.
- Last season, Yasmin Marghini captured a second-place finish with a time of 19:41.6, the fourth-fastest time in conference history.
