Women's Tennis Picks Up First Road Victory

PORTLAND, Ore. – Boise State women's tennis picked up its first road victory of the season, defeating Portland State 5-2 Saturday afternoon.
The Broncos (6-3) claimed the doubles point over the Vikings (4-6) after wins on courts one and two, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead heading into singles. Portland State evened up the score with a victory on singles court three before Boise State charged back, winning singles positions two and six to retake the lead, 3-1. Shauna Heffernan closed out the overall victory for Boise State courtesy of her three-set victory over Nell Arendt, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 on court five.

- "The team showed a lot of good resilience and resolve to play this match with such a quick turnaround after a really tough battle yesterday," said head coach Beck Roghaar. "I was really proud of how we handled those challenges and the adversity on court as well. To beat a well-coached Portland State on the road required us to compete at every spot the way we did today, and we came away with a good win.
