
Broncos Take Down Spartans

SAN JOSE, Calif. – Three Broncos scored in double figures to lead Boise State past San Jose State 78-70, Thursday.
Elodie Lalotte scored back-to-back baskets to start the contest and Dani Bayes hit a pair of 3-pointers as the Broncos (16-14, 11-6 MW) jumped out to a 16-8 lead. The Spartans (3-24, 1-15 MW) fought back, ending the period on a 7-2 run to cut the deficit to four at the end of the first quarter.
After San Jose State tied it up at 21, Boise State went on a 7-0 run to extend the lead to seven. The Spartans came storming back, cutting the lead to one at the media timeout. Mya Hansen hit a long ball and Trista Hull converted a three-point play the old-fashioned way to spark a 10-1 run as Boise State took a 41-32 lead into halftime.
Lalotte went to work in the third quarter, scoring 10 points in the period as Boise State extended the lead to 61-44 entering the final quarter. Natalie Pasco opened the fourth quarter with back-to-back 3-pointers as the Bronco advantage reached 23. San Jose State clawed back into the game with a 23-6 run to cut the lead to 75-69 with 22 seconds left, but Boise State iced the game from the free throw line to secure the victory.
