Boise State Battles In Loss To No. 25 Wisconsin

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's tennis battled in its first contest against a top-25 opponent since 2015, falling to No. 25 Wisconsin 4-0 Sunday morning at Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
The Badgers (7-2) took a win on doubles court two to lead early in doubles play, but Shauna Heffernan and Pauline Ernstberger were the 6-3 victor at the No. 3 spot to put the Broncos (3-2) back in it. After a tough fight from Lorelyz Marruffo and Nicole Discenza on court one, Wisconsin pulled away in the end to take a 1-0 advantage going into singles play.
Wisconsin continued to push in singles as it claimed courts three, two and four in straight-sets, clinching the overall victory. Pauline Ernstberger was in the midst of a battle with 82nd-ranked Ava Markham on court one, winning the first set 6-2 and tying up the third 3-3 before the match was abandoned due to the clinch.
